UAE’s Hamriyah Free Zone Authority (HFZA) showcased its services and advantages to 28,000 attendees at the recently concluded OSEA 2014, an international oil and gas industry exhibition and conference in Singapore.

Around 1,500 international exhibitors from 48 countries participated in the biennial tradeshow that attracted top oil and gas players, service providers, industry experts and SMEs from around the world.

The event, which is the point of entry to Asia’s oil and gas arena, brought industrialists from different sectors including engineering, fabrication, construction and contracting, health, safety and environment, instrumentation and control technology and marine equipment and services.

“The oil and gas industry has become vital to Hamriyah Free Zone and the zone has emerged as the second largest hub for petrochemicals, oil and gas bunkering and storage in the UAE,” said Saud Al Mazrouei, director of Hamriyah Free Zone Authority (HFZA) and Sharjah Airport Free Zone (Saif Zone).

“This international industry event provided an insight into a multitude of technologies and solutions covering various fields within the oil and gas community and gave us an opportunity to network with the major oil and gas players,” said Ali Al Jarwan, deputy commercial director of HFZA, who led the team to Singapore.

“Our objective for participating at OSEA was to promote the outstanding capabilities of the HFZA and the inquiries we received exceeded our expectations” Al Jarwan added.

Hamriyah Free Zone, which is fast emerging as one of the cornerstones of the UAE’s industrial development, houses over 6,000 enterprises from across 155 nations, attracting foreign investment from more than 500 industry verticals in key sectors such as oil and gas, petrochemicals, maritime, steel, construction and food.
