The latest offerings from the two reputed firms have well-designed features for the markets they serve

Among new valves launched in the industrial market are offerings from Switzerland-headquartered Pentair and Australia-basedProcess Systems.

Pentair Valves & Controls has supplied its largest ever bolted bonnet flanged wedge gate valves for an integrated petrochemical plant located in the Middle East. Engineered and manufactured under the Fasani brand, the specialist carbon steel bodied valves measure 78 and 84 inches in diameter with ANSI class 150 pressure rating.

Designed for wet flare line applications within the plant, the Pentair team worked closely with the project engineering and procurement contractor to design, manufacture, and test the customised valve solution. For this project, Pentair’s wedge gate valve design offered an improved fluid passage and optimised flow compared with other valve technology options.

Pentair’s production facility in Rescaldina, Italy, features one of the largest test benches in Europe with stringent and extensive testing for customised wedge gate valves of this size and capacity. With proven capabilities, engineering expertise and advanced design capabilities, Pentair is filling an industry need for large size gate valves.

PROCESS SYSTEMS

The company’s new range of fire safe ball valves is designed to function under extreme heat conditions.

Series BLSF fire safe ball valves ensure the equipment continues to perform in the event of a fire. The ball valves can withstand extreme heat as per the American Petroleum Institute code ANSI/API 607 Sixth Edition.

Manufactured to the highest standard and competitively priced, Series BLSF fire safe ball valves come in multiple options including manual lever or gear box, pneumatic double acting or spring closed, and electric On-Off or electric spring closed. The valves are flanged ANSI 150/ANSI 300 and suitable for a wide range of industrial and environmental applications.

Key features of Series BLSF fire safe ball valves include CR8M (316 stainless steel) or WCM (black cast steel) construction; sizes from 15 mm to 100 mm; dual pattern ISO 5211 mounting pad with square shaft; supplied standard with lever operation – pneumatic or electric actuator can be quickly mounted without bracket or adaptor; floating ball design providing pressure assisted sealing and temperature/wear compensation; precision machined, and mirror finished ball for bubble tight shutoff with less operating torque and temperature compensation.
