Airocide comes to the Gulf

The innovative filterless product, which has debuted in the Gulf, is said to contribute to health and well-being through air quality enhancement

July 2014

Akida Holdings USA, a global specialist in clean air technology, has, through their partner Fakhruddin Holdings, signed an exclusive distribution deal with Max Electronics LLC, part of Landmark Group, to distribute in the GCC region Akida’s flagship Airocide, a filterless air purification product which the promoters explained comes from a technology developed by Nasa and approved by the US’ FDA.

Airocide was launched in the US in 2013 to great success, and the UAE is the first international market where it will be introduced outside the US, its country of origin.

“Airocide, currently a need of the hour, is capable of eliminating virtually 100 per cent of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) – harmful gasses emitted by products around the home including aerosol sprays, cleaning supplies, disinfectants, hobby supplies, building materials, paints and thinners, strippers and pesticides. It also almost eliminates all mould, fungi, viruses and bacteria that cause allergy symptoms and respiratory sickness,” a statement on the launch said.

Commenting on the effectiveness of Airocide, Ali Asgar Fakhruddin of Fakhruddin Holdings, said, “We are extremely pleased to launch the breakthrough innovation Airocide in the GCC, as we are positive that it will make a significant difference to the quality of life in the region. After years of rigorous scientific research on air quality inside space stations, Nasa developed the technology that is now used in International Space Stations, a filterless air purification system that’s been proven to effectively remove the worst indoor air pollutants. We believe that our partnership with Max Electronics an integral part of the Landmark Group will definitely help eradicate air pollution in every indoor arena, thus enabling a pollutant-free environment and improving air quality.”

Neelesh Bhatnagar, CEO of Max Electronics, said, “At Max Electronics, we are consistently looking for partners with a similar vision as that of ours. Airocide is not only an air purifier but also a life saver as it is helping more and more people around the world. Max Electronics believes that devices supporting clean air technology and good health are the requirement of the region. We are working towards getting the best technology for well-being.”
