Aramex acquires Aussie firm

ARAMEX, the logistics and transportation solutions provider, has acquired Mail Call Couriers, a firm engaged in metro express deliveries in Australia.

The acquisition strengthens Aramex’s Asia-Pacific proposition and is part of its aggressive expansion strategy in growth markets.

Mail Call’s ‘WantItNow’ delivery solution incorporates groundbreaking count-down technology and unparalleled three-hour and evening e-commerce deliveries.

 

Agility honoured

AGILITY was recognised for a second, consecutive year as an industry leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Global Third-Party Logistics Providers report.

The Kuwait-based company was recognised for its culture of entrepreneurialism and the high-level involvement of executives in customer accounts, which is acknowledged and valued by customers. Acclaimed was its single common technology platform that brings together forwarding, warehousing, transportation and visibility functions.

 

Cargo service enhanced

ETIHAD Cargo, a division of UAE national airline Etihad Airways, has enhanced its cargo services to and from Switzerland and the US by offering bellyhold cargo capacity on flights between Abu Dhabi and Zurich and Los Angeles respectively.

The airline launched daily flights to both cities on June 1, bringing the total number of Swiss destinations flown direct from its Abu Dhabi hub to two and raising to four its network of direct US cities.

 

DMCA creativity ‘lab’

DUBAI Maritime City Authority (DMCA) has launched its ‘Maritime Creativity Lab’ initiative in response to directives from the Emirate’s Ruler.

Set to go into effect in early 2015, the Maritime Creativity Lab provides a smart and interactive platform to boost communication among public and private entities, decision-makers, industry experts, and maritime specialists through face-to-face meetings under the umbrella of DMCA.

These meetings will discuss major maritime industry topics and challenges and establish strategies to overcome obstacles.
